Rumors had surfaced out of the KC Stadium on Sunday night that Neymar was Paris bound, Arsenal had just come up short in a less then impressive display vs Hull drawing 2-2 a game in which Neymar was involved. Rumors proved to be true as in the space of 24 hours Arsenal have released a statement to reveal that he was sold for 87m Euros. With a bid coming during pre season. Bid's which Neymar was aware of.
Club Statement:
"The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed Arsenal this evening of his decision to leave the club in a meeting held at the club’s offices in London.
faced with this position, the club has informed the player of his buy-out clause of his existing contract €87million which will have to be met.
The club has received a number of bids from French side PSG over pre season all bids falling short of the release clause in the contract. On Sunday night PSG met our demands and Neymar was given permission to speak to the French club.
Personal terms were agreed quickly and Neymar gave some final goodbyes at Arsenal's training ground this morning. Manager Ben Clifford will be given the entire funds of the deal and will reinvest back into the squad how he sees fit"
Pundits and Fans alike at the game would have noticed his reaction to being subbed of for young German Sane in the second half, no handshake or first bump with the German no interaction with manager Ben Clifford, instead down the tunnel and away. A lacklustre performance in the first half only really showing any interest when the ball was at his feet resulted in Clifford calling it time for the Brazilian on the pitch.

Arsenal fans will be left scratching their heads now, who will replace the man who many considered to be Arsenal glowing light and future. Names will be brandished around the media for the next few days but questions will be asked if the club do not react quickly. Already Arsenal say some lack the midfield quality for the biggest games on the biggest stages now another star down where does that leave Arsenal and manager Ben Clifford ?
Young talent such as Mbappe, Asensio and Sane are all adjusting to life and while all will be top quality players Arsenal need a main man for the here and now. Manager Ben Clifford doesn't have 5/6 seasons that United have seemly given manager Kev Wright. The Arsenal fans don't have 5/6 seasons of league failure in them either.
Time will tell just how much of a impact (be it positive or negative) this transfer will have on Arsenal. Time is something Arsenal won't have much of if the hole left by Neymar's departure isn't filled properly and quickly.
